Our Story Begins at Home
Our Abuelito Rafael was an artistic and classical man who lived a humble yet grandiose life. His creative soul shapes the way we approach design.
It was Wednesday, February 7, 1962, when Rafael Lorié, our grandfather, left Havana, Cuba for Miami, Florida with his wife and daughter, our grandmother and mother. He couldn’t bring much, but he did bring his lively character, creative passion, and heightened gusto, none of which needed to fit in his suitcase. He was as spirited as they come—invigorating rooms with his presence and, as our mom recalls, when he wasn’t cracking jokes or devising pranks, he was in costume and inviting others to play a cameo in his thematic imagination.
From an early age, we were told stories about our Abuelito Rafael, an artistic and classical man who lived a humble yet grandiose life. At the same time, both of us began channeling our inner “Abuelito Rafael” through art, music, dance, and building sets, advancing our imagination through inventive play.
All of these were creative mediums and interests passed down from him to our mother and now to us. Today, the crackle of the needle on a vinyl still reminds us of our grandfather.
There is a nostalgic romanticism that lives on and inspires us. It inspired us to use his signature as our logo and it is this rich heritage that we strive to carry on and show in our design of livable spaces. This is the spirit that we wish to invoke in ourselves to enhance the way you feel in your space.

Since 2021, we have been providing bespoke design services in Miami & beyond.
Rafa and Vero are brother and sister interior designers in Miami specializing in home renovations, restorations and full-home furnishings. Born into a Hispanic household, their foray into design began through exposure to the arts. This grew into a celebration of human culture and a passion for travel that has transcended into the design of spaces that transport its inhabitants to their happy place.
Tropicalia, natural lighting, found objects, organic elements and bold accents are all elements that define their designs and can always distinguish a home designed by Lorié. While they bring a signature style, they cater all designs to the personal preferences and lifestyles of each client.
While the finished look varies by the individual styles of each client, every space designed by Rafa & Vero feels inviting, functional and full of life.
